Dual Eligible
OTC Benefits Programs for Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPS)
Dual eligible health plans typically manage populations that, unfortunately, have to deal with an array of challenging socio-economic issues. In fact, 49% of dual eligible health plan members are in fair or poor health compared to 22% of other Medicare beneficiaries, and often grapple with multiple chronic conditions.
In addition, many of these members don’t engage in their care as they should – which just exacerbates their problems even more.
The vast majority of dual-eligible members, though, have experienced the relief and comfort associated with over-the-counter medicines.
